Student Leadership Opportunities
At Franklin Primary, we endeavour to provide leadership opportunities for our students that build relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Our Leadership program includes the following:
Our class captains are elected at the beginning of each term. Students have a chance to vote who fills these positions.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
From Year 2-6 there are opportunities for students to be part of a decision making group, the SRC. The SRC meets weekly to discuss issues arising within the school and to organise various fundraising activities.
Sports House Captains and Vice Captains
House Captains and Vice Captains are elected by the students. These captains play an important role in team organisation at our major sports events.
Daily P.E Leaders
Students in Year 5-6 have the opportunity to be D.P.E Leaders. These leaders are responsible for running a physical activity program for students Prep to Year 4. Our leaders undergo a training program with the P.E teacher so they are thoroughly prepared for the role.
Class buddies are involved in a range of activities including sharing books, art and friendship programs.
Students in Year5-6 support other students with developing their reading skills. Our peer tutors undergo training with our senior teacher in preparation for this role.
